香港大學，簡稱港大（英語：The University of Hong Kong，HKU），是一所于1910年于香港島成立的大學，其前身為香港西醫書院，是香港歷史最悠久的大學。港大中文校訓為“明德格物”，而拉丁文對應的校訓則為Sapientia Et Virtus。大學以英語作為教學語言。自2007年開始，港大被英國THES-QS持續評為全球前30名的頂尖大學，位列中華人民共和國第一。香港大學(港大)多年來一直秉承優良傳統，提供卓越的師資及世界級的科研發展，致力培育社會領袖人才。

排 名
香港大學是香港其中一所學術排名最高的大學。根據《亞洲周刊》，香港大學在2000年于亞洲最佳大學的排名中位列第三。于亞洲周刊2000年亞洲最佳大學調查中香港大學商學院的工商管理碩士課程（MBA）于香港中文大學之后位列第二。
香港大學于《英國泰晤士報》（Times Higher Education Supplement,「泰晤士報高等教育特刊」）2007年的大學排名中位列全球第十八位。
在2008年10月8日公布的最新《〈泰晤士報〉高等教育――二零零八全球頂尖大學排行榜》中，香港大學排名第二十六名。

校 園
校園本部坐落香港島西部的薄扶林道以東、般咸道以南、羅便臣道以西、龍虎山以北，占地約16公頃。醫學院現時位于香港瑪麗醫院對面的沙宣道羅富國教育學院原址。牙醫學院及教育學院言語及聽覺科學學部位于西營盤的菲臘牙科醫院內。另有位于新界的嘉道理農業研究所及香港石澳鶴咀的太古海洋科學研究所。
教 研
現時香港大學有十個學院，分別為建筑學院、文學院、經濟及工商管理學院、牙醫學院、教育學院、工程學院、法學院、醫學院、理學院、社會科學學院。其他教學單位包括研究生院、專業進修學院、數碼港學院及其他不屬任何學院的教研單位，如亞洲研究中心、佛學研究中心、新聞及傳媒研究中心等研究中心。
